GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Manages day to day project operations of a large computer technology project. Controlling and assigning work to programmers, engineering managers and network administrators. Oversight and management of project budgeting, scheduling, problem identification & corrective action. In concert with the CTO and Site Manager, recommends and implements process and staffing changes as needed. Directly supervises Senior workstation programmers, Senior central site programmer, Senior AFIS programmers, Telco programmer, and Senior Network administrator. Interface with the rapid deployment team to incorporate as much as possible into the overall project.
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS (MAY BE CONCURRENT)
5+ years experience as technical project manager

SPECIFIC TASKS
Primary responsibility for overall project activities. Cross cutting skills to support software development, network development, database development, and large infrastructure design and implementation. Prior experience doing system design, implementation & rollout. Will be responsible for the oversight of the central site, workstations, and ancillary support systems.
Creates and executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
Identifies resources needed and assigns individual responsibilities.
Manages day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope.
Reviews deliverables prepared by team before passing to client.
Effectively applies our methodology and enforces project standards.

SPECIFIC TASKS

Responsibilities include: manager supervision, managing business plans and timelines, evaluating project results, managing training, oversight and update of corporate policies and procedures, oversight and update of job descriptions.
Facilitates team and client meetings effectively.
Holds regular status meetings with project teams.
Keeps project teams well informed of changes within the organization and general corporate news.
Effectively communicates relevant project information to superiors.

- B.S. Computer Science or Engineering required, M.S. Computer Engineering preferred.
- Software engineering experience involving Linux, UNIX and Windows platforms.
- 5+ years experience involving “hands-on “ development, mobile device engineering, mobile software development, testing and release management.
- Strong programming skills in Java, J2ME, C and C++, including the testing and debugging real-time software and hardware mobile systems.
